This Level 1 part-time course is perfect if you are looking for a qualification as the starting point for a career in bookkeeping and accounts. This introductory course will give you practical skills and a range of bookkeeping techniques. This course leads to the City & Guilds Book-Keeping Level 1 qualification, with an exam taken the week after the last class date. You may be eligible to receive this course for free depending on your employment status and the state benefits you are receiving.

  • Entry Requirements


    No formal entry requirements but students must demonstrate good numeracy and Literacy skills. Non native English speakers should have International English.

  • Course Content


    The course covers a range of basic bookkeeping techniques including:

    •  Trial balances
    •  Petty cash
    •  Cash accounts and bank reconciliation
    •  Double entry book-keeping
    •  Simple trading and profit and loss accounts
