Happy 160th birthday to Zone 1 and Beyond with the London Underground.

Started in 1863, the Tube is the oldest underground system in the world and now includes 272 stations. This series of walks will cover iconic stations, as well as unknown gems. It will celebrate the history and architecture of the network, as well as the people who made it all possible. Look out for a famous archer, disused stations and a historical artefacts storage site. Full details will be announced as the programme unfolds. This series, led by a professional London Blue Badge Guide, is for anyone with an interest in the history of London, its eclectic architecture and the various communities which make it an ever- evolving vibrant capital city. No prior knowledge is required as key facts are explained when needed. Informal assessments take place through discussions between participants. Follow up handouts are provided when applicable.
