If you are not ready to join one of our undergraduate courses, enrol on one of our Access to Higher Education courses. These courses are specifically designed for those who are 19+ who do not have traditional uni level entry qualifications. Access courses combine subject specialisms at Level 3 with study skills and are designed to prepare you for university-level study.
Our students come from a diverse range of backgrounds having achieved a range of qualifications, sometimes after a gap in study, with significant real-world experience. Courses are career-focused with teaching from industry specialists, include up-to-date and career relevant content, and give you a real understanding of your chosen field.
You still have plenty of options...
We know how hard it is to make those all-important decisions after your GCSEs and it’s not uncommon to embark on something and then have a change of heart. The good news is that you still have plenty of options. If you are 17, you can still apply for a two year fully funded course starting this September. If you are 18, your first year will be fully funded - your second year could also be fully funded but our Admissions teams will talk you through your options.
Take a look at our wide range of courses at each of our four Colleges and apply today - we have something for everyone and it’s not too late to apply to start with us this September.
Our Information Points are open from GCSE Results Day, or contact our Careers Advisors at Carshalton and Merton, Kingston, and South Thames.
"Kingston College has undoubtedly untangled and provided direction for my professional life and career path. In early 2019, I was an A Level drop out and had no further education qualifications. I am so glad I transitioned to BTECs as I felt A Levels involved a lot of reciting of textbooks to gain marks in a test, whereas BTECs have taught me way more content relating to real life and workplace scenarios and I have far more enjoyed learning the content.”
Brett Shepherd
To apply for A Levels at Kingston College you will need to apply for an A Level+ pathway which features a combination of A Levels/BTECs. Click on one of the pathways below to go through to the relevant course page and apply by clicking on the ‘Apply’ button in the grey box.

Thank you for your interest in our CELTA programme. In 2023/24 we will run two courses; dates are at the bottom of the sheet.
The CELTA award is an internationally recognised professional qualification for people looking to teach English to adults either in the UK or abroad. The course is very practical and provides candidates with the opportunity to teach students at a range of levels whilst also observing the practice of others. This practical work is underpinned by theory sessions which look to develop knowledge of the technical aspects of the English language whilst also building understanding of the principles of effective teaching.
Our CELTA team is very experienced, success rates for the programme are extremely high and we provide access to ‘state of the art’ teaching facilities, including: spacious classrooms, smart boards and a dedicated virtual learning environment. We have extensive links with language schools both domestically and across the globe. Consequently, many of our students progress directly onto employment as English language teachers.
Assessment will involve four written assignments of roughly a 1000 words each in length. Candidates will also be required to complete six hours of assessed teaching practice. Great care is taken to provide structured 1:1 support and feedback throughout this practice
From September 2023, fees will be £1400. You should also budget between £50-100 for books and materials.
Next Step
If you would like to pursue your interest, please email Jo Kovach (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). We will then invite you in to give you the opportunity to discuss the programme in more detail with members of the CELTA team, show you the facilities available at the college and allow you to complete the initial assessment. We look forward to meeting you.
