Carshalton College has been an education provider in Sutton for over 65 years. We pride ourselves on offering high quality vocational education at all levels in a friendly and supportive environment. We are a major provider of Full Time, Part Time, Apprenticeships, Undergraduate and Foundation Learning courses.
The College is situated in the London Borough of Sutton, in the heart of Carshalton, close to Sutton and Croydon. The atmosphere offers the best of both worlds – a peaceful and friendly environment surrounded by parks and ponds, but within a close proximity of the bustling towns of Sutton and Croydon. Excellent transport links mean that the College is accessible from all areas of South London as well as allowing students to be in the centre of London within 30 minutes.

TEC Centre
Newly-built Construction and Motor Vehicle centre which opened in 2016. This major project was undertaken to consolidate our construction, electrical and motor vehicle areas into one central location. This striking and informal new centre will improve the quality of the facilities for delivering these subjects, using state of the art technology in a flexible 21st century environment.
Graded 2 GOOD Ofsted rating
Following the latest visit from the Ofsted inspectors in February 2020, Carshalton College was rated Grade 2 – Good. This grading gives the teaching and support staff recognition for their enthusiasm, hard work and dedication in ‘providing a welcoming, stimulating and inclusive environment’, as stated in the report. The report also highlighted the quality of the teaching and learning environment that Carshalton College offers.
Pulse Health and Fitness Centre
Our £4.3m Pulse Health and Fitness Centre opened in September 2010 and houses facilities that include a swimming pool, luxury steam room, sports hall, 80 station Pulse Fitness suite, dance studios and student common room; Student membership is available plus Full Time students can access the facilities for free on weekdays during term time.
Gas Assessment and Training Centre
This dedicated centre provides a range of tuition from workshops to courses in gas, heating and plumbing in purpose-built facilities with flexible teaching times, ideal for adult learners.
Exceptional Student Support
We have a dedicated and experienced student support team who are here to help and support you while at college. Our aim is to give you the best possible advice and guidance to help you reach your full potential. We also provide additional learning support where required, financial advice and counselling services. Our student support team are there to help all our students with any problem which may arise during their time with us.
Apprenticeships
We are one of the most reputable providers of Apprenticeships in south London with long standing links with local employers. Carshalton College is continuing to grow its portfolio of apprenticeships, offering a range of intermediate and advanced apprenticeships in the Construction industry.
Mavis Peart Vocational Progression Unit
This is a purpose-built learning facilitiy for young people and adults with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities. New developments include installation of tube signage to help students navigate around the building and a sensory garden. Activities have included holding a Paralympics Festival and a Festival of Sport.
Undergraduate Study
The main provider of Early Childhood Education and Education and Learning undergraduate courses in the London Borough of Sutton. We offer a range of flexible study options in order to help our HE students fit their studies around work and family life. They also receive continuous support from tutors to help develop study skills and succeed. Our undergraduate courses are accredited through strong partnerships with a number of prestigious universities.
