Studying and working in health, care and childcare is an exciting and rewarding choice. There are a number of ways that you'll get to know the sector really well during your course. First of all there are our teachers who will share their vocational experiences with you while you learn. Your work placements are important too. These are your chance to discover what it's like to work in your chosen area, leaving you confident about launching your career.
You have plenty of courses to choose from – we're one of the largest training providers in south London. And as we're constantly upgrading our facilities we think you'll be impressed by our campuses too – most students are.
Joan, Health and Social Care Level 3
"South Thames has helped me to get work placements and experience in clinics and labour wards. And they’ve been teaching me good communication skills so I can help patients to feel comfortable and relaxed. I love the college and I think it has brought out the best in me."
I enrolled on the Childcare Level 1 course in September 2016, managed to complete the Certificate in Childcare Level 2 in July 2017 after an intensive six months’ course and I will be completing the Level 3 Childcare in 2018 whilst also juggling my family commitments with four children and doing some night shifts in a residential care home.
I am very grateful for having had the chance to join the courses and ultimately want to open up my own nursery setting once I have gained more experience in the field.
