Kingston College is delighted to announce the launch of a BTEC Level 2 in Esports and a BTEC Level 3 in Esports starting in September 2021. These exciting new courses will provide students with the opportunity to learn about the diverse and dynamic world of competitive video gaming.
The growth in the billion-dollar market for competitive gaming is set to continue, with new jobs requiring fresh new talent. The Esports industry now represents thousands of jobs in the UK and globally. In this relatively new and constantly developing industry, it’s not just about playing – like sports, the sector requires those with transferable skills in marketing, sales, events, coaching, commentary, editing as well as potentially a career as a gamer.
These courses are career focused and have been endorsed by the Esports industry. Learners will develop the required underpinning knowledge, skills and technical experience needed in a variety of different sectors of the industry.
Depending on the course level, students will study different units including: Esports Games, Teams and Tournaments, Establishing an Esports Organisation, Streaming for Esports, Plan an Esports Event, Esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in the Esports Industry, and Health, Wellbeing and Fitness for Esports Players.
