During lockdown staff at South Thames College have thrown themselves into teaching from home, coming up with inventive ways to keep students engaged.

Allan Kawagga, a final year HND Business Studies student commented on how impressed he was by how his tutors worked with him throughout lockdown in order to successfully finish his course.

Allan commented: ‘I want to extend my appreciation to your absolute support to my studies and your experience in the course of my studies. The lectures were informative and integrated into daily activities which helped me understand the modules even better.’

On studying during lockdown Allan commented: ‘The Keep-In-Touch sessions through Zoom were invaluable especially when you managed to virtually enable us to get first-hand information about a multinational organisation by introducing us to one of the former senior managers to talk to us about his first-hand experience of how such organisations operate. It was a good experience that allowed me not only to understand but also enjoy my module even more.’

Allan continued: ‘The learning material provided a very good guide to my coursework and your one to one calls reassured me that I was on the right track and provided me with the comfort that help was continuously available during lockdown.’
