Two exceptional alumni have been honoured with a Health & Social Care group being named after each of them. Inspirational role models, Jason Aduobi and Neelofar Lockhat, have been recognised for their outstanding academic achievements and commitment to study: each year Health & Social Care students are divided into two groups and these groups are now known as ‘Jason’ and ‘Neelofar’.

Verrol Tomlinson, Programme Leader - Health & Social Care commented: “I am delighted to inform Neelofar and Jason that one of two groups of the Level 3 National Diploma course has been named in their honour.

“For three years they have excelled and achieved at the highest level through Levels 2 and 3 at Kingston College. We are extremely proud of their achievement and progression to university. Their achievement is nothing short of exemplary, topping up from the Subsidiary Diploma, completing the equivalent of a full diploma course in one year and graduating with a triple Distinction*.

“The Jason Aduobi group will simply be known as ‘Jason’ and the Neelofar Lockhat group will simply be known as ‘Neelofar’. You have served the School of Care with distinction and are academic beacons - students will be aware of the trail you blazed and the legacy you have left.

“Congratulations Mr Aduobi and Miss Lockhat.”

A delighted Jason commented: “Thank you so much, this opportunity is remarkable. When I was told about the fantastic news I was speechless. My time at Kingston College has been a movie that is worth watching! I’ve experienced many encounters that have shaped me into becoming a better individual and also improving skills I never knew I had.

“I joined Kingston College in 2017 as someone who was confused about what I wanted to do with my life and very shy about everything. Three years on, and I’ve passed with Triple Distinction* and much more mature with my head screwed on. The College helped me mature and view life in a different perspective, I would like to personally thank Verrol. Verrol can come across as a very strict teacher but he’s not. Without Verrol my whole class and myself would not be in the position we are in today, he helped us so much and showed us how dedicated he was that it inspired us to also have that dedication to tasks. Verrol also helped me pass my theory and practical driving test and supported me when I arrived as a boy, with no idea what was happening, to a young man that had an idea of what to do in life.

“Kingston College has been a memorable and motivational journey and I wouldn’t be in this position without the strong and hardworking teachers.”

Neelofar, who was also a Student Union representative during her time at Kingston College, added: “It is an absolute privilege to still be remembered at Kingston College. Thank you for going out of your way to do this for me, it’s a pleasure to have been a part of the School of Health & Social Care. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect this. The new students on this course should also know that they have one of the best teachers in Verrol Tomlinson. I am honoured to have had Verrol as my teacher to help me with so much. Thank you for everything.”
