On Friday 9 February, Kingston College students took to the stage for Kingston’s Got Talent, and they delivered an abundance of stunning performances. The College’s ACT Theatre was a packed to the rafters with students, friends and family with the event hosted by brilliant, professional motivational speaker, Kheron Gilpin.
The performances were incredible with so many students, studying on a range of courses, gracing the stage and showcasing their impressive talents. All delivered with such confidence and enjoyment; the atmosphere was fantastic with the performers showing demonstrative support of each other.
Judges were Robin Hutchinson MBE, one of the founding Trustees of Kingston’s Rose Theatre and Chair of Creative Youth; College Principal, John O’Shea; Vice Principal, Charlotte Veale; and Vice Principal of Student Services, David Williamson. All the acts were outstanding, but three outstanding performers were chosen to receive prizes:
1st place RISE (Delfie Simpson) and Maestro (Chris Brown)
2nd place went to Mia Styles
3rd place went to Lethal Effects (Leeloo Ellacot)
On awarding winner RISE with first prize, Judge Robin Hutchinson MBE, said: “What makes a successful act is the way they project themselves; the sense of confidence that makes the audience feel comfortable and ready to enjoy… this performance by RISE and Maestro had that completely.”
