Level 2 Public Services students have enjoyed an educational visit to Kingston Police Station’s Custody Suite.
Public Services Tutor, Ciaran Fox, reported : “This was an excellent educational trip for the students. Sergeant Graham White and PC Emily Brooker provided a very interesting and informative tour of the Custody Suite. The students gained valuable knowledge about the Custody Suite and its purposes. The role of the Met Police Officers and Custody Officers in arresting and placing detainees in the Custody Suite was also discussed. The topics of step-by-step procedures including interviewing detainees, finger prints, mug shots, drug testing, legal rights of the detainees and further important information was shared with the students. They even experienced being put in a cell! Thank you to our local police force for this worthwhile and inspirational experience.”
